We decided to go back to Eve for a tasty evening out in Ann Arbor before meeting up w/ some friends at Jolly Pumpkin (Truffle pizza, truffle fries. 'Nuf said, I'm there!). Fortunately or unfortunately, we weren't able to get a table, so we made ourselves comfortable at the bar as we befriended the bartender. Since our usual calamari appetizer was no longer on the menu, we opted for the curried mussels. The description on the menu simply said, "simmered in curry sauce," but the taste was much more complex! It took everything we had to restrain ourselves from drinking the sauce like soup after we devoured all the mussels.
For my main dish, I finally decided on the beef tenderloin, topped w/ caramelized onions and warm Stilton. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. The side of a potato croqueta reminded me of my childhood when I helped my mom prepare my fav starchy dish.
The lovely Hines Drive
20 miles later, I did not feel the same excitement. Wow, how quickly did I forget how horrible I was at biking... And did I really see an 80-year old man pass me...?? Ugh.
